About Allentown Chapter

OUR STORY

Founded in 1926 by local Masons who wanted to help boys in their community, the Allentown Chapter, Order of DeMolay has been developing young men into confident leaders for nearly a century. We meet in the Allentown Masonic Temple on Linden Street, across from West Park, where generations of young men have learned the values of leadership, service, and brotherhood.

Our chapter is sponsored by Allen-Beauceant Commandery No. 20 of the Knights Templar and is one of the largest and most active chapters in the state. In 2018, Allentown was named the Most Outstanding Chapter in all of Pennsylvania, earning the most points overall among 21 chapters statewide. In 2026, we proudly celebrate our 100th anniversary.

About DeMolay Allentown Our Story

WHAT WE DO

We offer two programs to meet young men where they are: Squires for boys aged 9 to 11, and DeMolay for young men aged 12 to 21. Both are built on the same peer-to-peer leadership model that has shaped generations of successful young men.

Our members don’t just learn about leadership, they practice it. They run their own meetings using Robert’s Rules of Order, elect their own officers every six months, and plan, promote, and execute their own events. Every activity is an opportunity to develop public speaking skills, teamwork, and real-world project management, all guided by our dedicated Advisory Council.

OUR VIRTUES

DeMolay is built on seven cardinal virtues: filial love, reverence for sacred things, courtesy, comradeship, fidelity, cleanness, and patriotism. Through community service and charitable fundraising, our members learn the value of giving back while building the confidence and character that set them apart.

DeMolays also have access to scholarships for higher education, including annual awards of up to $50,000 per year in Pennsylvania for college, university, and trade school.
